GOT-Game of Thrones Rules the Emmy Nominations

With 23 Emmy nominations, Game of Thrones was the most-recognized program of 2016. In the supporting actors categories, Peter Dinklage and Kit Harington were recognized for the performances as Tyrion Lannister and Jon Snow. In the female actor category, Lena Headey, Emilia Clarke and Maisie Williams saw nominations for their roles as Cersei Lannister, Daenerys Targaryen and Arya Stark, respectively. Max von Sydow, who guest-starred as the Three-Eyed Raven was recognized as well.

Two of the series directors were nominated; Jack Bender for “The Door” and Miguel Sapochnik for “Battle of the Bastards.”

Game of Thrones is up for best drama and also received nominations for production design, casting, cinematography, costumes, editing, hairstyling, makeup, prosthetics, sound editing, sound mixing, special visual effects, stunt coordination and best writing.
